The Kilkenny Chamber AGM was held in the Springhill Court Hotel on Thursday 21st April and the well attended meeting saw the election of Deirdre Shine as President for the term 2016/2017. Outlined below are the Officers and Board members who were also elected:

President Deirdre paid tribute to outgoing President Martin Costello and the Board Members and staff of the Chamber for their continued dedication and hard work which has seen the Chamber’s influence and relevance grow exponentially. Deirdre confirmed that during her term she will focus on supporting the Action Plan for Jobs, working with SME’s and Start Ups and developing the Chamber proposition for the next generation.

A warm welcome was extended to guest speaker Mr Sean McKeown, Director of SE APJ Implementation Committee who outlined the challenges facing the SE and what the Action Plan for Jobs was tasked to achieve for the region in this context.

CEO John Hurley, who was recently appointed as Chairperson of the South East Regional Chamber Co Ltd, confirmed that Kilkenny Chamber is playing a significant role in the regional space with specific objectives in the Action Plan for Jobs, the Three Sisters 2020 Bid and supporting a range of Tourism initiatives in the region.
