The Kilkenny Business Awards 2019 will take place in Lyrath Estate Hotel on Saturday 16th November at 6.00 pm.  Over 20 awards will be presented on the night, including the Lifetime Achievement, President’s Award and the overall Business of the Year Award.

The process of choosing the winners began on 4th September at Rothe House & Garden, when the prestigious event was launched.  Nominations were sought from businesses and from members of the public for the various categories.  Once these nominations wereshortlisted to three businesses per category, interviews will take place in October.

This year, a new online nomination and application system was launched, as Kilkenny Chamber sought to reduce the amount of paper used in the process.   This easy to use system has been devised by Chamber members MindaClient.

All businesses nominated and applying must have an office/base in Kilkenny city or county, and must be at least 12 months in business. See Terms & Conditions – KBA 2019

Kilkenny Chamber, in association with the main sponsor State Street, has announced the shortlisted businesses that will go on to the peer-review round on October 23rd for the Kilkenny Business Awards, facilitated by the Pembroke Kilkenny and Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel.

The response to the county-wide call for nominations from local businesses has been extremely high having received a record number of nominations. The external adjudicators have examined over 150 applications and 56 independent local enterprises have now been shortlisted to go forward for the panel interview round.

Kilkenny Chamber has reported that more than 40 per cent of applications made were from  non-members of Kilkenny Chamber and 63 per cent are new entrants to the Kilkenny Business Awards.  The strongest categories were Customer Service Excellence, Small Business of the Year and Service Provider of the Year.

Kilkenny Chamber President, Marion Acreman commented, “Kilkenny Chamber is delighted that so many local businesses have engaged with the Kilkenny Business Awards this year. In particular it is great to see so many new businesses come to the fore. The standard of application was very high and the finalists that will go forward to the interview round are extremely deserving. Kilkenny Chamber wishes the finalists the best of luck and we are looking forward to meeting them at the awards’ ceremony in November.”

The 20 category winners and the overall Business of The Year award will be announced at the Kilkenny Business Awards ceremony on November 16th in Lyrath Estate Hotel along with the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ and ‘President’s’ award.
