Kilkenny River Court Hotel is a 4-star hotel with an unrivalled location on the banks of the River Nore at John St. Bridge and in the shadow of Kilkenny Castle. The hotel has been recently refurbished and is part of Neville Hotels, a family owned and operated hotel group of 4 hotels. Our sister hotels are The Tower Hotel & Leisure Centre, Royal Marine Hotel Dún Laoghaire Co Dublin, and Druids Glen Resort in Co Wicklow.
We offer 102 bedrooms, a number of which offer wonderful views of Kilkenny Castle. Our dining services include the Riverside Restaurant, Riverview Bar and The Terrace, perfect for watching the world float by over Afternoon Tea, Lunch, Dinner or Cocktails! In addition, we have our beautiful Marshall Suite Ballroom offering event capacity of up to 260 guests for a gala dinner or conference, plus additional smaller rooms for meetings and training events. Weddings are a special part of our business and our guests love our romantic riverside setting facing Kilkenny Castle.
Kilkenny River Court Hotel originally opened in 1999, so it is now a very well established member of the hospitality community in Kilkenny. Kilkenny River Court Hotel has some 50 employees, a good number of which are with us on a seasonal basis. The hotel has been a member we believe since the original opening date in 1999 and is a past Kilkenny Chamber Awards winner also. Being a member of Kilkenny Chamber has afforded the hotel very positive networking opportunities, being aware of and involved in key activities taking place in the city and county and have the opportunity to put ourselves forward for the Kilkenny Chamber Awards.
The business community in Kilkenny always work well together with the common goal of making the city and county a success. There’s really great team work to be found here. Our favourite part about our business is taking care of our guests. It’s at the centre of all we do and we care about it doing it really well. A happy guest will return! As with the entire tourism sector, the past year has been a very challenging one. As a team we have worked hard to deliver great service to our guests within the parameters of the Government’s public health guidance. We are very excited for the re-opening phase, which will begin for us on June 4th! The outlook for summer 2021 is very positive as things stand and we can’t wait to welcome back our guests and look after the good people of Kilkenny once more!
What is your favourite thing to do or see in Kilkenny?
This is a hard one! Hurling is on our list, we’re very blessed in that department. Outside of the playing fields, a walk in Kilkenny Castle Park or a leisurely meander through the city is always a tonic. It will be great to see everyone out and about enjoying city life again very soon. Around the county, Bennetsbridge and Inistioge stand out for their loveliness.
