Kilkenny Chamber considered the challenges facing the Hospitality Sector in Kilkenny as the country plans to re-open its economy. A great attendance from a range of sectors heard Vice President Colin Ahern discuss this and other topics with Colm Neville of the IHF South East, Ciaran Conroy of Kilkenny Civic Trust and Pat Crotty, Past President of the Vintners Federation of Ireland and Proprietor of Paris Texas.

All the speakers acknowledged that it will be difficult to meet the conditions required to re-open, and that significant investment will need to be made to ensure compliance.  It was agreed that reliance on the domestic market is all that’s available this year, but it was pointed out that this area is Kilkenny’s strong point.  The city has always performed well in this area, and we should play to these strengths.
