National Learning Network Kilkenny

National Learning Network is Ireland’s leading training, education and employment placement organisation. We provide training and specialist supports to people who, for a variety of reasons, may find it difficult to gain employment. Whatever your circumstances, whether you are long term unemployed, have an illness or a disability, National Learning Network can help you fulfill your ambitions.

At NLN we know that supporting a student’s wellbeing is critical if they are to reach their educational potential that’s why we adopt a holistic approach in everything we do, it’s your journey led by us, supported by you.

Students are supported by designing individualised and goal-orientated support programmes targeting each area they wish to improve. Students can access a range of study, wellness, social, and organisational support sessions.

Our Kilkenny centre is located on William Street, in Regent House. We have two training programmes, Rehabilitative Training Programme and the Career Path Programme, where you can gain recognised QQI qualifications.  We have up to ten experienced staff members ranging from Manager, Instructors, Secretary, Resource Teachers, Rehabilitation Officers, Psychologist, Marketing Officer to name a few!

At NLN Kilkenny we love being in the heart of the city where our students can integrate with the community through various activities planned throughout the year, go on work placements with local employers and enjoy going out for their lunch on sunny days.

Being part of the Kilkenny Chamber really benefits NLN with keeping up to date with local businesses and the goings on in the city.  It is also great for advertising with and letting other businesses see what we get up to regularly!

We have faced many challenges in the last year with the pandemic and having to work remotely and have our students adapt to on line learning, but with time and a lot of patience we all got through it and our students surprised us at how engaging they were and did not let the pandemic get them down. Thankfully we are back to in centre training and nothing makes us happier to see the smiling faces of our students as they get back to what they do best!
