Kilkenny Chamber was delighted to host a visit by his Excellency Kevin O’Malley the U.S Ambassador to Ireland recently.
The Ambassador visited Kilkenny Castle and walked along the Medieval Mile before later addressing a gathering of up to 100 Kilkenny business people at the Chamber event in the Newpark Hotel. There he spoke about the strong and longstanding relationship that exists between Ireland and the U.S. and he reaffirmed his commitment to remove many of the challenges faced by SMEs when exporting to the US market.
“This is good news for SME’s in Ireland” said John Hurley, CEO of Kilkenny Chamber. “The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) will address a number of barriers currently faced by SMEs including complex customs procedures and burdensome regulatory compliance.”
The Ambassador was so pleased with the Kilkenny welcome that he promised to pay a return visit in the near future.
